The Art of Tasting
Champagne is a living and delicate wine. To reveal all its secrets, a few simple rules must be followed. Here is our advice to enhance your experience.
The Golden Rule: Rest
Champagne hates traveling. Vibrations "break" the wine's structure.
Never open a bottle immediately after delivery.
Let it rest quietly for at least one week before tasting.
Storage
Your bottles must be kept:
- Lying flat (horizontal).
- At constant temperature (10-13°C).
- Away from drafts.
- In total darkness (light alters the taste).
Temperature
Neither too warm nor freezing:
- 7°C to 9°C for young Champagnes (Tradition, Rosé).
- 10°C to 12°C for Vintages, to release complex aromas.
Serving
Hold the glass by the stem to avoid warming the wine.
Cleaning tip:
Avoid dishwashers and detergents! They leave a film that kills the bubbles. Wash only with hot water.
Should you age it?
Our Champagnes are sold at optimal maturity. They are ready to drink. Unlike some wines, they will not necessarily improve by waiting years.
Ratafia Champenois
Serve it well chilled (6-8°C), without ice cubes to preserve its richness. Keep upright in the fridge after opening.
